St. Paul’s Church

A small Catholic church located on Arran Quay. It was built in the Greek Revival style and completed in 1864. The church has a distinctive Italianate bell tower with a clock and a copper dome, along with a portico supported by four Ionic columns.

Trinity College

Trinity College was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. It is one of the seven ancient universities of Britain and Ireland, as well as Ireland’s oldest university. Its campus consists of different squares surrounded by magnificent buildings.

Le Trinity College a été fondé en 1592 par la reine Élisabeth I. C’est l’une des sept universités anciennes de la Grande-Bretagne et de l’Irlande, en plus d’être la plus vieille d’Irlande. Son campus se compose de différents carrés entourés de magnifiques bâtiments.

The Library of Trinity College is the largest research library in Ireland. It contains over five million books spread across several buildings, including the famous Book of Kells. The Long Room is the main chamber of the Old Library. It is 64 meters long and houses 200,000 ancient texts.

Dublin Castle

Originally built as a defensive fortification by the Norsemen, Dublin Castle was the seat of the British government’s administration for seven centuries (until 1922). It is now an Irish government complex as well as a popular tourist attraction. Only two towers and underground fortifications remain from the medieval fortress.

Il s’agit maintenant d’un complexe gouvernemental irlandais ainsi que d’une attraction touristique prisée. Il ne reste que deux tours et des fortifications souterraines de la forteresse médiévale.
